12alle wissen, dass das Volk der
13Athener großen Dank abstattet
14denen, die ihm Wohltaten leisten
15und bei ihrem Wohlwollen zum Volk
16bleiben, (wolle man beschließen): dass Peisitheides S.d. Pei-
17sitheides von Delos Athener sein soll, er selbst
18und seine Nachkommen mit Ausnahme dessen,
19der entsandt war von den Feinden der Stadt
20und Peisitheides’, um ihn zu töten;
21dass man ihn einschreibe in Demos und
22Phyle und Phratrie, welche er will,
23die die Gesetze erlauben; dass die Pry-
24tanen über ihn abstimmen lassen
25im Volk bei der ersten Volksversamm-
26lung; dass diesen Beschluß aufzeichne
27auf eine steinerne Stele der Sekretär
28der Prytanie und aufstelle
29auf der Akropolis; für die Aufzeichnung
30auf der Stele soll der Schatzmeister des Volkes
31dreißig Drachmen geben. Wenn einer
32Peisitheides tötet, soll er ein Feind
33sein dem Volk der Athener, und ebenso
34die Stadt, die den Mörder aufgenommen
35hat. Damit Peisitheides keinen Mangel an
36Unterhalt hat, soll, bis er zurückkehrt
37nach Delos, der jeweils amtierende
38Schatzmeister des Volkes Peisitheides
39eine Drachme pro Tag geben aus
40dem Dekret-Fonds des
41Volkes. Bei den Nomotheten
42sollen die jeweils amtierenden Vorsteher
43und der Vorsitzende zusätzlich ins Gesetz
44schreiben, dass dieses Geld die Apodektai
45austeilen dem Schatzmeister des
46Volkes für jedes Jahr; der
47Schatzmeister soll es Peisitheides
48prytanienweise auszahlen. Wenn aber
49nicht darüber abstimmen lassen die Vorsteher und der
50Vorsitzende der Nomotheten, soll jeder
51von ihnen 1000 Drachmen schuldig sein, die heilig
52sind der Athena.

17son of Peisitheides of Delos shall be an Athenian, himself
18and his descendants, except for the one
19who has been sent by the enemies of the
20city and of Peisitheides to eliminate him;
21and he shall be registered in the deme and
22tribe and phratry that he wishes,
23of those which the laws stipulate;
24and the prytany shall put the vote about him
25to the People at the next Assembly;
26and the prytany secretary
27shall inscribe this decree
28on a stone stele and stand it
29on the acropolis; and for inscribing
30the stele let the treasurer of the People give
31thirty drachmas; and if anyone
32kills Peisitheides, he shall be
33an enemy of the Athenian People, and
34any city that receives the killer;
35and so that Peisitheides
36may not want sustenance, until he returns
37to Delos, the treasurer of the People
38in office at any time shall give Peisitheides
39a drachma a day from the
40People’s fund for expenditure on
41decrees; and in the lawmakers the
42presiding committee in office
43and the chairman shall propose an amendment to the law
44for the budgetary officials to allocate this money
45to the treasurer of the People
46each year; and the
47treasurer shall pay it to Peisitheides
48each prytany; and if
49the presiding committee and the
50chairman of the lawmakers
51fail to put this matter to the vote, each of them shall owe 1,000 drachmas, sacred
52to Athena.
